Last Friday the weather was a sunny and almost summery 70ish degrees, so I made my way to the city, I love walking in NYC in the spring and summer, everyone is out and having a drink outside people are just lounging around and people watching. Edward and I stopped at Lima’s Taste on Christopher St. This place never disappoints! I had the Ceviche Mixto. In case you don’t know what it is, ceviche is a dish of raw seafood marinated in lime juice, typically a
dish from Peru and Ecuador. This is a place I have been meaning to write about since I have tried ceviche in other places where they give you a larger portion, but this place has the location and the ambiance that make it quite popular. The restaurant is elegantly decorated. I suggest you try ceviche here and let me know what you think!

19 FebRasoi, where is that you ask? I had never really ventured out in search of Indian cuisine and have been relatively clueless about it, all I knew was that it was spicy and smells like lots of curry! So Edward and I made our way to India square in Jersey City and entered Rasoi. I had Balti chicken and it was delish, the chicken was very tender. I had them tone down the spicyness because I don’t handle HOT food well at all. While eating one of the appetizers I didn’t realize I had bitten into a jalapeño pepper until I was gulping down my water trying to put out the fire in my mouth and stomach. The appetizer had the pepper hidden inside, sneaky! Oh, and check out the size of the beer at this place, not bad eh?
Vietnamese food, anyone?
13 FebSo last night my sweetie and I were wondering what to have for dinner, and in my never-ending quest for new foods and places to eat, I asked him to pick a place…and he found this Vietnamese spot called Nha Trang in downtown Jersey City. I tried the combination rice noodles beef soup w/ grilled chicken, or Pho Ga Nu o’ng and it was delicious, soup not too salty and the chicken was very flavorful. We also tried the summer rolls with shrimp, pork & vegetable in rice paper, Goi Cuon, not as tasty but the sauce they come with, some peanuty flavored sauce, kicked up the flavor. Edward tried the marinated beef cubes and those were gone within minutes
The service however is a bit lacking with only about 3 waiters for a roomful of 20+ tables. Despite this, I still recommend and will def be going back to explore more Vietnamese cuisine!
